Carl came up with a great idea of the listening booth. A great place for out of print music, rare demos or stuff you might not be able to get in your neck of the woods.

A fan sent me this link with some old McRackins footage and I thought it would be a great addition to "The Listening Booth"

It works the same way as yousendit.com, but it's for video. Now the cool thing is, you can upload the content and people can just go to the page and view it instead of downloading it.

The site is called
http://www.youtube.com

You very simply sign up with an email addy, password and where you're from. That's it. Then start uploading your video content, they convert it. The file can't be more than 100MB, so you may want to poke around and find Dr Divx to compress your files down. Once you upload the file it gives you a link or the code to embed it in a page to use on myspace or a blog or whatever. I'm sure we can pick Darren's brain for any hints or ideas to make things smaller, clearer etc. Or he may offer to come over and do it for you

I'll start it off with a Grandma Moses video we did for the song "Knock me down" basically a montage of a bunch of raucous performances.

Maybe we can make this a sticky Spice?

If that one isn't processed yet, have a look at the McRackins one to see what I mean.

Sorry, I'll sit in the "time out" chair for a bit.

I guess we're going to be getting the good, the
bad and the ugly up there. I had a quick squizz
at the CJ Sleez stuff - which probably qualifies
for all three!

Video/audio sync was out on a couple of vids

Godknows what the copyright implications are,
but if they don't care, neither do I. Had a quick
look at McRackins, which looked like fun. The
show reminds me of New Music, I think it was
called, which was a Canadian show with a couple
of sexy presenters. I still have a few of their
eps. on dirty VHS - Phantom Blue's on one,
Jane's Addiction on another, and Sputnik somewhere
else.

Hints on compressing files...

Don't know, depends on what software you've got
access to. I could scribble some tuts on Premiere
Pro, Avid and Final Cut, but if nobody's using
them what's the point innit?

Unfortunately Youtube compress the files for you i`ve noticed as once they are uploaded they do look at least half if not less than the quality of the upload shame really.
